Here is an update from a test taker:
Last year CAT has 25 questions in each section but this year CAT 2008 has 25 questions in quant and DI but 40 questions in verbal section
Keeping the same standards but this time with more number of questions in the most controversial verbal question.
Cat 2008 consists of three sections.
Section I –quant with 25 questions in which about 14 are answerable and the expected cutoff would be around 38.
the standard is almost the same as of 2007 paper.
the DI section is tougher compared to last 4 to 5 years. The expected cut off would be about 32-36. there are 6 different problem statements out of which only 1 problem is straight forward.
This time the verbal section has 40 questions with the same marking scheme as for quant and DI ( 4 marks for a correct answer and -1 mark for a wrong answer). The RC’s are relatively more straightforward. The expected cut off would be around 35.
The CAT 2008 paper along with answer key should be available on TIME website in the evening.
