Indian Engineering Services Exam 2011

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) announces the Indian Engineering Service (IES) examination 2010 to commence from 14-May-2011. The examination is used to fill various engineering positions in Indian Government.

Eligibility
Aged between 21 to 30,
Degree in Engineering or equivalent
Physically fit

Selection Process
IES Written Examination 2011 will be conducted from 14-May-2011
Selected Candidates will be called for a personality test

How to Apply
UPSC will open an online application for IES 2011.

Alternatively, Candidates can also Apply on the UPSC common application form which is available at all Head Post Offices, with an application fee of Rs100/- in the form of Central Recruitment Fee Stamps

  3. Eligibility Conditions (in brief)


    (ii) Educational Qualifications :

    Degree in Engineering or equivalent. M.Sc Degree or its equivalent with Wireless Communication, Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as a special subject also acceptable for certain posts. (See Para 3(iii) of Notice).

    Category I—Civil Engineering
    Category II—Mechanical Engineering
    Category III—Electrical Engineering
    Category IV—Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering

    Examination will be in these disciplines.

  10. As I understand, IES exam will be conducted in the following papers:

    Category I—Civil Engineering
    Category II—Mechanical Engineering
    Category III—Electrical Engineering
    Category IV—Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering

    Any engineering graduate can apply & take the exam in the above 4 categories.
