A STAR, SIA Youth Scholarships

Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR, www.a-star.edu.sg ) and Singapore Airlines (http://singaporeair.com) announces full scholarship for outstanding students from India to pursue studies in Singapore, leading to Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education (Advanced) Level or Equivalent.

A*STAR India Youth Scholarship is for 4-year studies from Secondary to Pre-University. i.e. for Students who completed Standard 8 in 2009

SIA Youth Scholarship is for 2-Year studies in Pre-University. i.e. for Students who completed Standard 10 in 2009


Scholarship
The Youth Scholarship covers the following:
School & Examination Fees,
Hostel Accommodation,
1 return economy air tickets, at the start and end of the academic session,
Annual stipend of S$ 2,200 to S$2,400;
One time Settling-In allowances of S$400 to S$500
Subsidized medical benefits

Eligibility

For A*STAR India Youth Scholarship:
Indian Citizens, born between 1993 & 1995, 80% in class 7 & 8
(Students who completes Standard 8 in 2009)

For SIA Youth Scholarship:
Born between 1991 & 1993, 85% in class 10
(Students who completes Standard 10 in 2009)

Selection Process
Short listed candidates will be called for a written test in Aug/Sep 2009. Post written test, selected candidates will have an interview in Nov 2009.
