Scholarships - KVPY

KVPY 2009 Scholarship details are out today.

The Department Science & Technology, India, announces National Fellowships for Students Interested in Research Careers – Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY).

The scholarships are offered to various streams of students and range from Rs 4000/- to Rs 7000/- p.m


Eligibility:

Basic Science Stream
Stream SA: Students of 11th standard, with 75% in Maths & Science in 10th standard
Stream SB: Students of 1st year BSc, with 60% in Maths & Science in 12th standard
Stream SB + 2 (SX): Students of 12th standard, with 75% in Maths & Science in 10th standard
Stream SP: 11th, 12th or UG students with 60% in 10th & 12th exams

Engineering/Medicine Stream
Stream SP: First year Engineering/Medicine with 60% (75% for medical) marks in 12th standard

Each stream has a separate application form.
So, if anyone is applying for more than one stream, they have to send application for each stream.

Scholarship:
Scholarships of Rs 4000/- p.m to Rs 7000/- p.m

Selection Process:

SA, SB, SB+2 will have a selection test (written) on 01-Nov-2009

Hard copy of applications can be obtained by paying 200/- processing fee to kpvy’s account – KPVY A/C No. 10270577392 at any core banking branches of SBI and sending a request along with the pay-in slip to KVPY office.

01-Sep-2009 - Last date to obtain applications by post
10-Sep-2009 - Last date to obtain applications in person at IISc
11-Sep-2009 - Last date to Apply
