INSPIRE Scholarship

Ministry of Science & Technology, Department of Science & Technlogy has announced the INSPIRE Scholarship for 2008, 2009, 2010

INSPIRE is the Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research scholarship.

There are 3 types of scholarships under INSPIRE
1. Scheme for Early Attraction of Talents in Sciences (SEATS)
2. Scholarship for Higher Education (SHE)
3. Assured Opportunity for Research Careers (AORC)

The current notification is for SHE & AORC

There are a total of 10,000 INSPIRE SHE's available, starting from Apr-2008

Eligibility
For SHE
1. Candidates studying B.Sc., M.Sc and Integrated Masters course in sciences.
2. Candidates should be in the top 1% of their state board exams at Class X & XII
Alternatively, Candidates should have outperformed in identified competitive exams (for a list of such exams, pl. check the department's website)

For AORC
First Rank Holders qualified for Doctoral research

Scholarship
Selected SHE candidates will be offered 80,000/- per annum
For AORC, fellowship will be equivalent to NET/GAT/JRF
